About the artists:

Hadiza:

"Cinematic soulful pop ballads unafraid of exploring the rag-time swing of New Orleans jazz. Her haunting powerful vocals bounce and glide over her piano-driven arrangements."

Eems:

"For Eems, a ukulele isn’t just a ukulele. It’s a jumping off point that leads to an uncharted and often unpredictable world of sound and inspiration. Blending it with loops and effects to achieve a captivating blend of R&B and pop music, Eems has used his unique sounds, voice and sense of humor to reach crowds across the country.

Eems has opened up for many hip-hop greats including Slick Rick The Ruler and GLC form Kanye West's G.O.O.D music label. More recently, Eems showcased at the APCA National Convention, a talent buying conference with over 100 universities in attendance buying talent for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters. In March 2014, Eems performed at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas alongside a host of other national acts."

Reverend Doctor:

"Reverend Doctor is an uplifting and defiantly positive soul pop act which aims to connect people and build community through music that moves your mind and your feet.

A musical project created by Keith Rollins, a Black American singer-songwriter born in the heartland of the United States, Reverend (to preach) Doctor (to heal) is about carrying a message of love and celebration as far and wide as their voice may reach.

Rooted in the likes of Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind & Fire, Tracy Chapman - Reverend Doctor's relentlessly optimistic music tells inspirational stories from their own life and creates community wherever their music is heard. Their story is everyone’s story: victory, loss, struggle, but marked by the decision to encourage others on a musical escapade across the world.

Traveling the country with nothing but their guitar and trusty looper pedal, The Good Doctor’s show is small but mighty. They now borrow from their blues roots of the bayou, funk that healed the world, along with R&B, pop, and rock — It results in an upbeat sound that will make you dance, or simply bring a smile to your face."

The Black Creatures:

"The Black Creatures are a darkpop hip-hop musical duo from Kansas City, Missouri pulling elements from sci-fi to tell an interdimensional story."
