This one’s different.

The artwork you’re seeing is more than a cover—it’s a self-portrait made from layers. I started with a single backlit photo of myself by the talented Dawn Altier. Then I printed it out three times and painted over each one by hand

using bold, joyful, clashing color. I didn’t aim for perfection—I let it be messy, instinctive, alive. Then I stacked them, digitally—color on color, texture on texture—until something true emerged.

That’s how this song came to be too.

“Unapologetically Me” is a soul-pop rock anthem with Afrobeat bones. It’s loud, bright, and hopeful—but underneath is a journey. For me, it’s about making peace with complexity. Letting myself be unpolished, queer, a little unknowable. Letting love in, even when it makes me feel like an island. And choosing to show up as myself, on purpose.

This release is a celebration of becoming—of living in the questions, of growing out loud.

It would mean everything if you’d join me in it.
